H20? H2...no!
Chicago has, in my opinion, the best tasting water in the country. This is something that you probably do not realize when you sit around at home and turn on the tap, but you notice it when water tastes differently.
Let me start off by stating that I am not a water guy. I much prefer soda and adult beverages (thought not at the same time.) However, there is something about being able to go into my kitchen and having decent tasting water that really makes me appreciate this area of the Midwest.
Unfortunately, I find Governors State to be lacking in the water department. I find having a drink from the water fountains on campus to be cring-worthy.
I believe last year was the first year for Governors State to have the new type of water fountains where there is some filtration that occurs. But the filtration can only do so much, and that is a shame. There have been numerous times where I have taken the plunge and put my face down to drink from a fountain, only to immediately purchase a pop to get the rusty taste out of my mouth.
Governors State, I love you and I think you're great and all. But please, please invest in a way to improve the taste of the water throughout the school. The new fountains were a step in the right direction, but more has to be done. I expect to receive Christmas cards in the future from students who benefit from this one day.
By the way, for those of you who were wondering, here are the answers to the quiz from my last piece in the October 1 issue:
1.C 2.B 3.D 4.A 5.C
