I have experience teaching classes that are a mixture of graduate and undergraduate students in the department of Criminology, Law, and Justice at UIC. I have done extensive research on Chicago's gangs (and violence), and now I am focusing my research on social norms within urban impoverished neighborhoods, and media portrayals of race, class, and gender in the media. I have training in criminological theory, as well as "real world" experiences of crime in society.
